Windows Administration: Primary administrator for a large Windows NT network (26 servers, 8 Domains, 1,500 users). Designed the implementation plan and upgraded this network to Windows 2000 Active Directory, with a total of 25,000 users (students, faculty and staff) and 4000 nodes.  In the three years in which I administered this Windows network, there has been no unplanned downtime, or successful hacking of any server.

Security Administration: Drafted security and usage policies. Implemented a university-wide PKI (and SSL) infrastructure.

Exchange Administration: Implemented Exchange (5.5) mail server for the UALR Library & upgraded that server to Exchange 2000; Created separate Exchange 2000 server for the Finance & Administration area. Designed security policies appropriate for each server.

SQL Server Administration: Sole database administrator and developer of a SQL Server 2000, hosting data for the Computer Services Help Desk. This project also included a Knowledge base component, which I maintained. Designed and implemented student tracking database (SQL Server) for the College of Education.

Oracle Development: Supported the Finance and Administration division of UALR through the implementation of the University’s new administrative system, based on Oracle. This involved converting existing data to the new format, writing queries and scripts, as well as security management. As such, I implemented and supported a new point-of-sales system.

Web site development: Managed several independent web servers (IIS 4 and 5) to serve special needs from the campus community. Developed content and managed security, with no successful hacking of those systems to date.

Network Technician: Part of a four-man networks team which researched, purchased, implemented and supported the entire UALR network. I have laid CAT-5 wire and fiber optic cable, and performed maintenance on ATM routers, switches, and hubs. I was primarily responsible for the Campus dial-in system and gigabit switches.

Solutions Research: Implemented pre-production web portal and project management solution; Assisted faculty in developing on-line course material.

Other duties: Designed Microsoft Office-based electronics forms to replace the existing paper version used throughout the enterprise. Maintained backups for 15 servers of various functions (domain controllers, email, database …) Designed the UALR Internet Café. Authored documentation, and user help documents. Served as third-level support for client issues.
